12:00 noon Friday - Tour of the famous two and a half mile oval, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (Deadline to RSVP has been extended. Please email me and let me know by August 10 if you would like to go on this tour. See details below)

6:00 pm Friday - Grub and social time at the Lyons Den, which is Turn 5 of the Race. Gun range and sporting clay slinger on the property (available subject to compliance with owners' range rules, and industry standards), so feel free to BYOG and ammo.

7:30-8:30 am Saturday - Registration and Pancake Breakfast at Montgomery Aviation, KTYQ.

9:00 am Saturday - Mandatory Pilot Briefing

10:00 am Saturday - Race start!

We are very excited to announce that the Official Starter of The Indy Air Race is Bob Harkey!

    A Hoosier favorite, Bob will be on hand to wave the green flag to start The Indy Air Race.
    A former race car driver in the USAC Championship Car series, Harkey raced in the 1963-1979 seasons, with 85 career starts, finishing in the top ten 23 times, with his best finish in 4th position at Trenton.
    He drove in the Indianapolis 500 in 1964, 1971, 1973, 1974, 1975, and 1976, finishing in the top ten three times.
    For many years he worked with Champion Spark Plug's safety program, and served as technical advisor and stunt driver in several Hollywood movies.
    A licensed pilot, Bob has owned and flown several airplanes, including his most recent, a Stearman.

11:30 am Saturday - Recovery of racers complete, ramp open to the public.

12:00 noon Saturday - Race results announced, victors lauded, losers commiserated. Lunch for Racers hosted by EAA 1311 and the Hendricks County Aviation Association. Hot dogs available for spectators, served by Montgomery Aviation.

Sharon Rose

Saturday all day - The lovely and talented artist Sharon Rose will be at the FBO offering her artwork for sale. She has received photos of several of the race planes entered and is working on beautiful renditions.
